Top 5 holidays for toddlers – NEW!

Way back in May 2013, I wrote this blog post rounding up our top 10 sites for toddlers. I thought I’d add to the list, with my pick of the top 5 sites for toddler holidays out of our exciting new sites for 2015.

As a mum of toddler twins, I know how daunting the idea of travelling with a baby or toddler can be. The great thing about taking them on a camping holiday with Canvas is it’s (relatively) stress-free. While we can’t promise to do anything about teething and tantrums, we can make your holiday as relaxing as possible with some fantastic, child-friendly campsites.

So here are my top five picks.

#1 Château de la Grenouillère, Loire Valley

Blos swimming pool

Children’s pool at Château de la Grenouillere

If you’re looking for peaceful surroundings in the heart of the Loire Valley, you won’t go far wrong with this campsite. There’s plenty of green space for the little ones to run free, and the spacious pool complex is great for children of all ages.

If the little ones don’t mind time in the buggy, the nearby area is great to explore. Enjoy leisurely walks along the river (maybe while they nap?) or explore beautiful Blois and charming Chambord.

#2 Camping du Jard, Vendée

The Vendée is a superb choice for a holiday with toddlers. It’s not too far to travel, and you’ll find miles of sandy beach and welcoming resorts.

Camping du Jard is a friendly, well-kept site which is really close to the beach. There’s a lovely pool complex with covered pool if you’re visiting out of the main summer months.

#3 Camping Aqua Viva, Dordogne

A relaxing afternoon by the pool

This is a small and friendly campsite which is well situated for exploring the Dordogne. It’s a perfect choice if you are travelling with toddlers – enjoy lazy afternoons by the pool (well as lazy as afternoons with toddlers get!), where they have a separate paddling pool and mini-slides.

#4 Camping Europa Silvella, Lake Garda

Enjoying a prime location on the southern shores of Lake Garda, Camping Eurpoa Silvella is perfect for a relaxing holiday, with some sightseeing thrown in. Mini-campers will enjoy the lovely pool complex and fun playground!

#5 Camping le Neptune, Languedoc-Roussillon

Just a short stroll away from Argelès-Plage, this is a quiet and relaxing campsite with a welcoming atmosphere. There are organised activities for the whole family – this site is a good choice if you are travelling with a mix of different ages.

Last year, I travelled to Berny Rivière with my (then 7 month old) twins. If you want to know more about the joys of travelling with toddlers, you can read about my adventures here!
