Top five campsites rated by you in July 2015

Trying to pick your summer holiday destination can be really hard! One way around it is to take a multi-centre holiday and enjoy lots of places…European road trip anyone? But if you prefer to pick one base and make the most of it, we’re here to lend a helping hand. Well technically, it’s past Canvas holidaymakers offering the helping hand.

For July 2015 these were our top rated sites, compiled from reviews and ratings through our third party review platform, BazaarVoice. To read the full reviews, head over to the campsite pages.

  1. Camping la Sirène, Argelès

We’re not surprised at all to see the fantastic La Sirène take the top spot from all your reviews for holidays taken during July 2015. Have you seen the awesome pool complex? We can’t imagine anywhere better (or more fun) to cool off under the Mediterranean sunshine!

Location: On the sunshine coast of the Languedoc-Roussillon, close to the lively resort of Argelès-sur-Mer.

  1. Domaine des Ormes, Brittany

This much loved site is popular all year round but when the season gets into full swing, Domaine des Ormes is a lot of fun! FamilyExtra activities keep everyone happy and active but there’s loads of other stuff going on onsite too. Horse riding is one of the most popular activities here – lots of fun and a great way to explore the surrounding area.

Location: Dol-de-Bretagne in northern Brittany.

  1. Camping la Croix du Vieux Pont, Berny Rivière

No surprise at all to see our most-loved campsite up there as a July holiday favourite. The relaxing feeling of being in rural French countryside combined with the action and fun of campsite life (partly thanks to FamilyExtra) makes for a pretty fab holiday! Not forgetting that Disneyland® Paris and Paris are nearby for a day trip with a difference.

Location: Next to the cute village of Vic-sur-Aisne, 71 miles north-east of Paris.

  1. Camping la Palombière, Dordogne

The Dordogne is beautiful all year round but when the sun is shining it has to be one of the most stunning parts of France. Taking a canoe or kayak down the river before enjoying a gentle swim is definitely a summer highlight! The campsite itself has a brilliant atmosphere and after a busy day of action, the lovely emplacements are the perfect place to relax and enjoy a bbq.

Location: Close to the lovely village of Sarlat-la-Canéda in the heart of the Dordogne.

  1. Pra’Delle Torri, Venice

One thing that came up multiple times in the reviews was how lovely and tidy the campsite is and how great it was for children. You can’t really beat the location in terms of its proximity to Venice and the small town of Caorle nearby is lovely.  The direct access to the beach and the fab pool complex means every avenue is covered for action and relaxation!

Location: On the Adriatic coastline, under an hour from Venice.
