Introducing our new Life campsites

We’re in more of Europe than ever before…

With well over 100 new campsites there’s so much more to choose from. And to make that choice easier, we’ve split our campsites into two ranges, Selection and Life. Selection includes many of your favourite classic Canvas sites with a few new additions, while Life is all brand new this year.

The biggest difference you’ll see with our Life campsites is that there are no Canvas couriers. Life campsites are ideal for independent camping families that are seeking a more authentic camping experience. Fear not, there will be staff onsite to welcome you and provide you with any guidance you need.

You’ll feel immersed in the culture of the country around you and you’re free to plan your holiday out however you like. Whether you want to spend your days cooling off by the pool or exploring your local area, you can rest assured there will be plenty to do in and around these new campsites.

There are a few more differences between Life and Selection, including cleaning deposits, fixed departure and arrival dates and differences in inventory. Check out the Selection and Life pages for further details.

So what can you really expect from these new Life campsites? Well we’ve picked out a few of our new campsites below that we’ll think you’ll love and be dying to try.

Closer to cities than ever before…

More campsites means even more destinations than ever and some of our new Life campsites are conveniently located even closer to major cities. Ideal for a fly and drive holiday, these sites allow you to incorporate some sightseeing and culture into your stay.

Camping Vilanova Park

Camping Vilanova Park: Located on the golden coastline of the Costa Dorada, Vilanova Park is our closest campsite to Barcelona making it the perfect base to explore the vibrant city. Fly into Barcelona and you’re just an easy half-hour drive to your campsite. There’s so much to see and explore in Barcelona, a city known for its unparalleled and unique architecture. Filled to the brim with delicious tapas restaurants, there will be plenty of choice to keep everyone happy. For something to entertain the kids, PortAventura, a theme park packed with thrilling rides and coasters, is just a 40 minute drive away from the campsite.

The beaches of Cannes

Camping Ranch: At Camping Ranch you could not be in a better location to explore the beautiful French Riviera. Located in Le Cannet you are barely a 15 minute drive from the glamorous city of Cannes where you can do a bit of celeb-spotting while dining in luxury. Just a half hour drive and you’ll reach Grasse, the perfume capital of France, where the children will love a visit to the Parfumerie Galimard. Nice sits approximately a 40 minute drive from your campsite and is where you’ll likely plan to fly into. There’s so much to do in Nice we’ve even got a guide to the top hot-spots. The French Riviera is home to many beautiful beach towns including St Tropez and Villefranche-sur-Mer all within driving distance – but for a more quiet beach try out Théoule-sur-Mer.

Camping Embruns

Camping Embruns: Camping Embruns is approximately 40 minute drive from Bordeaux-Mérignac airport, making it the perfect base to explore the city. While there is plenty to see and do in Bordeaux, what will wow you most is just the city itself – UNESCO has named the entire city a World Heritage Site due to its exceptional architecture. Known for its wine (there is even a wine museum), wine tours are one of the most popular attractions and a must for the adults of the group. For something more low-key the Arachon basin is just 700m away from the campsite. The tip of the peninsula is a stunning sight to see and a great place to do some fishing.

Great new facilities…

For those that want to spend most of their stay relaxing on the campsite itself, we’ve got a great selection of Life campsites with impressive facilities – including some great pool complexes to keep you cool in the summer months.

Domaine D’Inly’s onsite water park

Camping Domaine D’Inly: Domaine D’Inly, located in beautiful Southern Brittany, has just opened a new onsite water park, ideal for keeping the kids entertained for hours upon hours. When they’re not whizzing down the water slides, there’s plenty of activities onsite to keep them occupied including a small farm and horse riding. The rural setting will truly immerse you in the camping vibe – the bar and restaurant are even located in charming restored farm buildings. Active families will love hiring bikes and exploring the countryside of Brittany.

Lazy river at Domaine de la Rive

Camping Domaine de la Rive: You and the kids alike will find it pretty difficult to tear yourselves away from the pool complex at Domaine de la Rive. With many fun water slides, a jungle-themed water playground and even an indoor wave pool with lazy river – this campsite’s pool facilities are truly impressive. With plenty of onsite sports and even a wellness centre you won’t hear a single family member speaking the dreaded words ‘I’m bored’. If you tire of the activities onsite (although we’re pretty certain you won’t) the world capital of wine, Bordeaux, is less than an hour’s drive away from the campsite and ideal for a bit of culture and sightseeing.

Camping Mas Sant Josep’s outdoor pool

Camping Mas Sant Josep: Camping Mas Sant Josep’s pool facilities will truly suit all members of the family. Three pools and numerous water slides will keep children of any age amused, while the adults can rest up in the jacuzzi, sauna and hydro-massage chairs. Water lovers will be spoiled for choice between the amazing pool complex and the great choice of beaches along the coastline of the Costa Brava. It’ll be quite the challenge choosing between those water slides and the crystal clear waters of the Punta de Vallpresona but there’s plenty of time to do both in a week’s stay.

For something a little more adventurous…

Active families will love some of our new Life campsite locations. Whether exploring some sights you never thought you’d see or embarking on a cycle through nature – there is an adventure for everyone.

Fort Boyard

Camping Domaine des Charmilles: Relive your youth with a visit to Fort Boyard the set of one of the first adventure-style game shows. Stay at our Domaine des Charmilles campsite set on the picturesque Fouras peninsula where you can enjoy a boat ride around the famous fortress. This region of France is rich in history so there’s plenty more to explore. Nearby cities of La Rochelle and Rochefort are ideal for a wander. Bikes can be hired onsite and are a great way to see your local area. The campsite itself has a great pool complex ideal for keeping cool in the summer. There’s plenty to keep children of all ages busy from children’s clubs to ports and entertainment.

The campsite has a great playground and plenty of sports facilities including water sports at the nearby beach. The town of Thonon-les-Baines is just 2.5 miles away from the campsite, offering spectacular views over Lake Leman and Rives port. Tuscan coast

Camping Orbetello: You’ll need to drive just a bit further afield to find Camping Orbetello, as it is 90 miles from the nearest airport (Rome), but it will be well worth the extra journey. This Tuscan campsite is located on a small strip of land between the lagoon of Orbetello and the crystal waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the perfect exotic escape. The campsite has its own private sandy beach with shallow waters ideal for younger children. To discover more of your beautiful surroundings, take a trip to the Natural Park of Maremma, a large protected zone of the Tuscan coast with plenty of trails and cycle paths to choose from, as well as canoeing and fishing. Head to the spa town of Saturina, just under an hour’s drive from the campsite, for the ultimate day of relaxing in the town’s thermal springs, which are free to the public.
