Camping with Kids – FamilyExtra

FamilyExtra (2)

FamilyExtra is our free all-action activity programme for the whole family, available at five of our top campsites across France.

We chatted to Kylie Evans, general product manager at In2Action, the firm responsible for creating FamilyExtra, to find out just what makes this programme so special. Kylie started off as a FamilyExtra courier at Domaine des Ormes, ‘it was so much fun creating a really fun, safe environment for children to come and play, but also running high-profile family sessions for everyone to enjoy’, she tells us. Parents can sit back and relax as the children are taken care of by Couriers like Kylie, ‘the activities where children can come and join in on their own give parents a real chance to rejuvenate on their holidays, while knowing that their children are being well looked after’.

FamilyExtra has an exciting range of action packed activities including sports like Aeroball (a combination of volleyball and trampolining) to games like Gladiator Challenge and I’m a Celebrity. If your kids are the creative types they’ll love playing Mad Scientists or becoming Mini Picassos. When the sun is shining there are, of course, plenty of poolside activities. Kylie adds, ‘our water activities are very popular, especially the Water Roller and Water Walker, our giant inflatables that people can walk on water in. Body Zorbing is also popular with the older children and families too’. FamilyExtra aims to create a bit of a family community around our campsites, offering you the opportunity to get to know the other campers on your site.

The little ones are also catered for with our Zero2Five programme aimed at under 5 year olds. Zero2Five was ‘created especially with the learning and development needs of young children in mind’, says Kylie. This programme requires the presence of one parent and is available at three of our fantastic campsites: La Croix du Vieux Pont, Domaine des Ormes and Les Alicourts Resort.

Kids familyextra3

FamilyExtra isn’t just for the kids though, ‘there’s a chance for everyone to join in too with family activities’, Kylie tells us. Our Couriers organise events for the whole family to get involved in from circus workshops to quizzes.

So how can you find out more about FamilyExtra on site? Our Couriers, like Kylie, are there to inform you, ‘our FamilyExtra couriers try to ensure that they visit everyone at their accommodation at the beginning of their holiday to let them know about the activities for the week and what they can come and get involved in’.

‘FamilyExtra is something standout and special’, Kylie sums up, ‘whether your family fancy a raft building challenge, or the little ones want to become cowboys for the day, we’ll guarantee everyone has a fantastic time and leaves with memories to last a lifetime’.

FamilyExtra is only available during peak season at certain times on these campsites, so check out the FamilyExtra page on our website for full details.
